Country singer and reality television star Kellie Pickler celebrated her birthday Saturday with her husband and joking with Ellen Degeneres that she will bring her some of her "grandpa's 'special' hooch!"
EOnline reported June 28 that "American Idol" alum Kellie Pickler got to celebrate birthday number 28 this week, which actually was a happy two-fer: Her husband, Kyle Jacobs, had a birthday on Tuesday as well. Pickler had just come home off of a tour promoting her latest album, The Woman I Am.
She also traded a couple of tweets with Ellen Degeneres. The Emmy-winning talk show host, who readily admits on her show that Kellie Pickler is one of her favorite people to have on "The Ellen Degeneres Show" as a guest, tweeted the singer via the show's account: "Happy birthday to the lovely and talented @KelliePickler. I hope you're celebrating with the people you love, and some hooch."
To which Pickler replied: "Thanks Ellen!! Hope to see you soon...I'll be sure to bring some of my grandpa's "special" hooch! Much love! :)"
For those not in the know, Kellie Pickler, besides being a fan of her grandfather's "special" spirits, is a fan of the popular Tennessee drinking whiskey called Jack Daniels. In fact, she and her husband received a keg from the Jack Daniels distillery for Christmas.
Kellie Pickler also has a re-release to celebrate. Not only was she promoting her last album, The Woman I Am, which was released in November, but she was also promoting its re-release. The Woman I Am was released on vinyl Friday. It is an autographed limited edition -- only 1,000 copies will be made availale -- and can be ordered on Pickler's website.
The Woman I Am was the North Carolina native's fourth Top 5 album on the Billboard Country Albums chart and her fourth Top 20 Billboard 200 album. It peaked at No. 19 and was the first time one of her album did not make the Top 10. Still, the album topped the Indie Albums chart, giving the country singer her first No. 1 album on that chart (she topped the Country Albums chart twice).
The singer has done well since finishing sixth during Season 5 of "American Idol," scoring eleven Top 50 Hot Country Songs hits (8 landing in the Top 30). She's popular on the talk show circuit and even proved herself quite the dancer, winning the Mirror Ball Trophy on Season 16 of "Dancing With The Stars." In fact, she's doing so well she placed eighth on the Forbes list of top-earning "American Idol" alums last year, raking in $1.5 million.
