"Twilight" actor Kellan Lutz has landed the leading role in director Renny Harlin's "Hercules 3D". The movie is slated to hit theaters next year along with Brett Ratner's version of Hercules starring Dwayne Johnson.
So, with two similar movies coming out at around the same time, what exactly differentiates Harlin's "Hercules 3D" from Ratner's film? Kellan Lutz apparently.
It takes more than a good physique to portray the most legendary, mythological personality in history — and Kellan has exactly that, personality," Harlin said. "He's not afraid to explore the strengths and vulnerabilities of the character, and he impressed me with his passion and heart.
Harlin has made it previously clear that his film would be more of a "Gladiator" style movie rather than a mythological one. Hopefully, Lutz will be able to pull off carrying an entire movie since his acting roles in the past haven't really shown off any profound abilities. Perhaps as Hercules, Lutz will finally get a chance to prove himself.
