This week, the Utah state medical examiner’s report was released for Colorado Rockies president Keli McGregor’s death that occurred in Salt Lake City in April; McGregor’s death was determined to be from natural causes.
McGregor, 48, died April 20 in a Grand America hotel in Salt Lake City, and the death report was completed in Utah. In the state of Utah, autopsy reports are not considered public record.
Salt Lake City police spokeswoman Sgt. Robin Snyder said that no drugs were found in his system and it was deemed natural, but information on the actual cause of death was not released.
"As far as going any further, that's getting into his medical history," Snyder said. "The family knows and that's how we're going to leave it."
The Grand America hotel called Salt Lake City police around 9 am on April 20, and reported an unconscious man in one of their rooms. Paramedics were called and he wasn’t revived.
McGregor was in Utah with other members of the executive team on a business trip. McGregor had been the president of the Colorado Rockies since October 2001.
