If you were fortunate enough to see Keith Urban at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis in June of 2011, you're one of the lucky ones who go to experience Keith Urban's Get Closer World Tour before it was cancelled. It was announced yesterday that Keith Urban will have to undergo throat surgery in November.
Keith Urban is facing an outpatient surgery, deemed to be minor, but since it involves removing a polyp from his vocal cords, it's serious in the sense that ignoring it could affect his country music career. So, while it's wise for Keith Urban to seek the medical help he needs, it does mean that thousands of fans who were looking forward to his concert, are now disappointed.
Keith Urban will go ahead and perform on shows where he was only scheduled to make an appearance and sing one song, but it's been advised that he not continued with a full concert schedule. At this time, St. Louisans should still expect to see Keith Urban on the 45th annual CMA Awards. He's scheduled to sing and participate in a guitar tribute to Glen Campbell, alongside Brad Paisley and Vince Gill. The CMA Awards will air on Wednesday, November 9th at 7:00 p.m. Central on St. Louis's ABC affiliate KDNL.
