Keith Terry, a percussionist, rhythm dancer and performance artist, will perform his body beats this Friday, November 6th, 7 p.m., with the SLAMMIN All-Body Band at Hill Auditorium, 825 N. University Ave., Ann Arbor.
Terry, known for his ability to use the body to create music through claps, coughs, jaw pops, body slaps, skips, slides and vocals, brings together musicians from different cultures and traditions for the show.
Using only their bodies, the musicians will present a wide-range of music including traditional and contemporary rhythms, percussions, and movements that National Public Radio called "...most sensitive, most humanistic, and most magical."
According to the University Musical Society, "[The show] brings together globally inspired beatboxing and Terry's masterful, graceful body with soul-stirring vocalists."
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Tickets are available for online purchase, by phone at (734) 764-2538, or in person at the Michigan League building, 911 N. University Avenue.
Family Tip: Parking can be difficult in downtown Ann Arbor, so allow plenty of time to find and park at one of the surrounding paid parking structures with some walking to Hill Auditorium.
