Ladies and we certainly don’t want to leave out the gentlemen, mark your calendars on Friday, Dec. 27, for soulful R&B crooner Keith Sweat to perform what he refers to as “baby-making music” at the Howard Theatre. Doors open at 6 p.m. and show-time starts at 8 p.m. Tickets purchased in advance are $46.50 and $55.00 on the day of the show.
The singer/songwriter/producer known for his greatest ‘90s hits such as “Nobody,” “Twisted,” and “I’ll Give all My Love to You,” also formed the R&B group LSG with Johnny Gill and Gerald Levert which featured the hit single “My Body.” Sweat also discovered Silk, one of the ‘90s popular R&B male groups known for their smash hit “Freak Me” and female R&B group Kut Close known for the hit single “I Like” off of their debut album Surrender released in 1995.
Sweat was recently honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2013 Soul Train Awards for his outstanding contributions to the music industry. While accepting his award, he thanked all those people who made babies off of his music. Sweat also thanked the late Gerald Levert who he says taught him how to be a true entertainer.
