On Jan. 8 a brand new song by The Rolling Stones band member Keith Richards and American singer-songwriter Tom Waits debuted on NPR's website. The song is entitled "Shenandoah" and it is from the upcoming compilation album, "Son of Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Chanteys". You can listen to Tom Waits and Keith Richards' collaboration "Shenandoah" here.
The compilation album, "Son of Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Chanteys" was produced by Johnny Depp, Hal Willner, and Gore Verbinski. The two-disc album will be released on Feb. 19 via Anti-Records. The album also features sea shanties from Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, Patti Smith, Sean Lennon and many more.
Willner came up with the idea for "Rogue’s Gallery" compilations with actor Depp and director Verbinski while on the set of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest".
