Keith Olbermann show among MSNBC offerings to be picked up by Sirius XM Radio

Keith Olbermann

More than four years after MSNBC was dropped by XM, Keith Olbermann will return to satellite radio as Sirius XM Radio (SIRI) brings MSNBC back.

Shares of MSNBC, owned by General Electric (GE), spiked as the news was released, and top-ranking MSNBC shows such as Keith Olbermann's "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" will be added to the lineup, with Olbermann's taking the Monday through Friday 8pm to 9pm (EST) slot.

Olbermann has hosted his MSNBC show since March 2003, part of a long career in news broadcasting on radio and television that includes a stint in Boston in the 1980s as sports anchor for WCVB-TV. Olbermann has contributed to fundraisers for the Celiac Sprue Association, a national organization designed to help further research and awareness of Celiac Disease.  Olbermann confirmed that he has celiac in 2005 while working on a fundraiser for the association.
