Keith has record night for Chicago

The Chicago Blackhawks are back in their series with the Vancouver Canucks and they can thank their top blueliner for an outstanding offensive performance Thursday. 

Canadian Olympic Gold medallist Duncan Keith scored two goals and two assists this evening as the Chicago Blackhawks shutout the Vancouver Canucks 5-0 to close the gap in their Western Conference quarterfinal. The Canucks still lead the Blackhawks 3-2 in the series, despite being outscored 12-2 in the last two games. 

Keith recorded career highs with four points and eight shots on goal Thursday in Vancouver. He was also a +2. 

The series now shifts to Chicago Sunday night at the United Center. 

In Los Angeles Thursday, the four Canadian Olympic Gold medallists on the San Jose Sharks each got on the scoresheet for the second consecutive game. Joe Thornton scored the game winning goal at 2:28 of the third period, while Dan Boyle, Patrick Marleau and Dany Heatley each picked up an assist. San Jose beat Los Angeles 6-3 to take a commanding 3-1 series lead in the Western Conference quarterfinal with Game 5 slated for San Jose Saturday night.

Finally in Montreal, the Boston Bruins got a goal and an assist from Canadian Olympic Gold medallist Patrice Bergeron as the Bruins defeated the Canadiens 5-4 to tie their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal at two games each. Bergeron also had seven shots, four hits and won 17 faceoffs. Game 5 in this series is in Boston Saturday night.
