"I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that." As far as movie quotes go, the preceding is probably one of the most recognizable ones. It is, of course, said by HAL the computer in Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey". Dr. Dave Bowman himself, Keir Dullea, will be at Cinema Paradiso this weekend, January 18-19.

Events begin Saturday in Fort Lauderdale at 5:30 PM where a special montage will be shown, an on stage interview followed by Keir Dullea receiving a life time achievement award. The 1961 movie, "Hoodlum Priest", starring Keir Dullea, will then be screened and audience members will get a Q&A opportunity with the actor. If you have ever had a question about the making of any of his movies or about some of the directors he has worked with, like Stanley Kubrick, then this is you big chance. The evening will end with a reception.

They are still breaking in the new Cinema Paradiso in Hollywood and to help move that process along there will be an event in that theater on Sunday beginning at 5:00 PM. Again there will be an montage and an on stage interview. A screening of "Bunny Lake is Missing" will follow.

You may be wondering if there will be a screening of "2001: A Space Odyssey" worked into all of this. Of course there will be. At 8:00 pm at Cinema Paradiso, Fort Lauderdale the classic film will be introduced by Keir Dullea and then screened . Not only do you get this see this movie on the big screen again, as it was meant to be, Dr. Dave Bowman does the introductions. It does not get much better than that,
