Keepsake Gorgon is one of the newest "Theros" spoilers revealed today Sept. 11, 2013 from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set in a Tweet by @OracleOfTheros. This uncommon black creature can be a massive roadblock and nightmare for weenie decks to handle unless they're holding removal.
Keepsake Gorgon - 3BB
Creature - Gorgon (Uncommon)
Deathtouch
5BB: Monstrosity 1. (If this creature isn't monstrous, put a +1/+1 counter on it and it becomes monstrous.)
When Keepsake Gorgon becomes monstrous, destroy target non-Gorgon creature an opponent controls.
2/5
Keepsake Gorgon will be an absolute bomb in limited where its meaty five toughness will help keep it alive to take down almost any threat your opponent throws at you. Your adversary will have to reconsider each of their attacks knowing that you'll be able to destroy their best attacking creature. Should Keepsake Gorgon stick around long enough for you to acquire seven mana it'll also be able to take down another non-Gorgon threat of theirs too. What's even better is once you've made Keepsake Gorgon Monstrous and your opponent tries to destroy it a Voyage's End or sacrificing it to Rescue from the Underworld will allow you to save your creature and make it monstrous yet again.
Keepsake Gorgon might not seem like the most glamorous creature for use in constructed decks, however it's immune to Hythonia the Cruel. With a Reaper of the Wilds on the battlefield you'll be able to scry for one every time Keepsake Gorgon kills a creature during combat.
How will you use Keepsake Gorgon?
