Your weight loss journey is going really well, you have been staying on the right course and doing all of the things that you are supposed to be doing, watching what your eating, working out, and drinking plenty of water, but there is an obstacle that is going to challenge you, vacation. Many people feel that vacation is a time to forget their weight loss goals and eat whatever they want, and while this is partially true, it is also important to remember how far you have come and that you do not want to ruin all of the great progress that you have made.
When on going on vacation it is natural to let loose a little on your strict diet and enjoy yourself a little, but do not completely lose your mind and go way off the deep end.
Exercising is a challenge because you are forced to go out of your comfort zone and your gym and do other activities to get your daily burn. If you are at the beach going for an early morning jog is a great way to enjoy the ocean and challenge yourself. Even a brisk walk or hike with the family will help to burn those extra calories that you have been eating, or drinking. If running is definitely not your thing, then bring a DVD such as yoga or aerobics and exercise in your hotel room. The one thing to remember is that you still need to sweat and work your body every day.
When on vacation there are many different and delicious foods to try and you should never deprive yourself, but be reasonable. Get a few different entrees so that you are able to try a little of everything, and even indulge is a desert, just make sure to share, and never overeat. Be sure to eat throughout the day as well, if you go to dinner famished then you are more likely to overeat and not make good decisions.
Vacation is a great time to relax, re-energize and reconnect with yourself and family. While it is perfectly fine to indulge a little just make sure that you keep your wellness goals in mind and do not make any decisions that you will regret and you will have a great vacation and still keep on track.
