Kim Kardashian, from the reality series ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ is shocking the world with a skin treatment that she received. The extreme treatment is called a vampire facial and seems to pay homage to Elizabeth Bathory’s desires to stay young and beautiful with the use of blood. Although she didn’t actually bath in it, as you can see in the photos her face was certainly covered in it.
Unlike Elizabeth Bathory’s beauty regimen of bathing in the blood of virgin girls, this treatment is fairly painful as you can see by the look on Kim’s during the procedure. The facial is done by having your own blood drawn and then injected back into your skin with a similar needle as a tattoo gun. This procedure is thought to increase collagen production but most doctors agree that other than pain, swelling and irritating your skin it does nothing for you.
By the looks on Kim’s face as she was having her vampire facial it seems likely that she wont do it again but just like Elizabeth Bathory, her obsession with beauty seems to have no limits so we will have to wait and see.
