Summer is just around the corner, and now is the time to book your flights and hotels! With the current economy issues, it has never been easier to find great steals on rates, fees, and fares (not to mention upgrades).

Here is a quick over view of the websites I have used in order to find the absolute best deals available. 

• I have used kayak.com in order to search for flights though they have services for vacation packages and deals, hotels, rental cars and more. They offer a search of a majority of web sites in order to get you the best deals out there.  orbitz.com, travelocity.com, vayama.com, expedia.com, hotwire.com, britishairways.com, delta.com, american airlines at- aa.com, hotels.com,  and many more. 

• Orbitz.com just announced its newest innovation – Hotel Price Assurance.  Here’s how it works: you book any pre-paid hotel on Orbitz, another Orbitz customer subsequently books the same hotel stay at a lower rate, and Orbitz automatically sends you a check for the difference. This comes just after they began their Hotel Fees Cut, which brings hotel rates down by cutting the booking fees. 

• Travel-Ticker.com, sister site to hotwire.com, is an inspirational travel site with tons of travel bargains and deals. With submissions that give inspiration for all kinds and types of vacations, their low cost travel reviews and ideas make it simple to find a great rate for an even greater options.

• Hotwire.com allows you to search for all of your travels, including last minute hotels and deals in a fun and entertaining way. It can get you as much as 60% off of your travels, but you don't get all of the information on your hotel, flight, etc. until after you book. But if you're open minded and you watch the star rating of whatever you are contemplating you can get a great deal in turn.

• When you're looking for the latest information about London or New York, metrotwin.com is the place to start. It's a unique online, user-driven community where locals and visitors alike share their reviews on the best places to dine, drink and relax.

Most of the travel web sites have package deals at very reduced rates. It's easy to find a real nice vacation package which includes accommodation and or travel for about half of what they were going for only a year ago. Cruises are another popular form of travel, and the recent trend of information combined with knowledgeable customers has driven prices down to less then half, and sometimes as much as seventy five percent off of the original price. Because of these reduced rates, it has been said that more and more younger people are able to embark on their journeys with a captain and crew in command, whereas before the primary travelers had been mostly retirees. Cruises.com has an easy search, and updates their site with the latest last minute deals from several different carriers. Carnival- www.carnival.com , Norwegian Cruise line- www.ncl.com , Disney- www.disneycruise.disney.go.com  and more.
