Winter is definitely not a girl’s best friend. The cold weather and harsh winds really take their toll on your skin as well as the dry air from being indoors around heaters all day. Your skin will peel and flake more than usual also during the winter months.
How’s a girl supposed to make her skin look great then? Consider how much time you spend prepping your skin and washing it and add layer upon layer of different products just to get a healthy, rosy look. If you don’t hit the tanning beds in the winter or constantly use bronzer your skin is also going to look a bit wan as well. Do you do what some people suggest and use a darker foundation in the winter to give you a “fake” glow?
Here’s a great a idea and must have shortcut to your makeup routine this winter. Switch to a tinted moisturizer. Not only will your skin look luminous it’s also hydrated as well. Don’t keep it hidden away until next summer. By using a tinted moisturizer in the winter, you’re reducing the layers of makeup that you’re adding to your skin daily making it look fresher and since its can breathe better you’re also preventing breakouts from clogged pores.
The best way to use a tinted moisturizer? Prep your skin right. Use the heavy moisturizers at night to keep your face hydrated. In the morning after you wash your face just apply the tinted moisturizer to even out your color and give you that healthy glow you may have lost from summer. If you want to take it one step further and are looking to achieve an airbrushed look, apply concealer with a brush to achieve an allover brightening look.
Some great tinted moisturizers you may want to check out if you don’t already own any can be found at your local Walmart like Neutrogena Healthy Skin 10 Enhancer or Pur Minerals Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 available at Ulta or Boots No7 Soft and Sheer Tinted Moisturizer found at Target. Look for a shade that’s just a shade darker than your skin. Nothing more than that to avoid looking like you have a mask on.
