If you were hoping to get your eReader in time for the holidays, you better be crossing your fingers.  Sales are booming for Kindle, the Sony Daily Edition and Barnes and Noble’s Nook, but Kindle is the only one shipping right now.

Pre-orders for the Sony 3G wireless Daily Edition eReader may not be shipped until January.  The pre-order advises customers that the e-reader will ship between December 18 and January 8, but that an "actual delivery date cannot be guaranteed."

The 3G Daily Edition includes bells and whistles like free wireless capability, a seven inch touch-screen, and enough memory to hold 1000 e-books.  The Daily Edition also promises a Library Finder App that allows users to download free eBooks from local libraries using their library cards.  When the lending period expires, the borrowed content dissipates.

For those who rushed to pre-order the Nook, Barnes & Noble’s entry into the eReader market, it is listed as shipping November 30.  Those who waited to pre-order were placed in two later ship dates, December 7 and December 11.  If you want to order now, the shipping date is listed as January 4, 2010, which could defeat your holiday gifting plans.

The Nook offers duel screen technology, wifi connectedness (although wifi orders must be placed in an actual Barnes & Noble store), 2G memory enabling storage of 1,500 books, notating ability and a loan feature.

Amazon’s Kindle has become the top seller at the site.  Should you order today, the Kindle is in stock and ready to ship.
