Keep Farming First conference slated for Saturday

Chester County 2020 welcomes local agricultural enthusiasts to its 2014 Keep Farming First conference at Octorara Middle School in Atglen, PA Saturday, March 15th from 9am-2pm. Registration begins at 8:30am with a bluegrass serenade by The Blue Dot Ramblers. Steven Finn will present the key note address entitled, “Valuing Our Food: Minimizing Waste and Maximizing Resources.” Breakout sessions will follow for the majority of the day’s event. Topics include: Equine Industry Update, Lyme Disease in Domesticate Animals, Fighting Hunger through Agriculture, and Seed Harvesting Strategies, to name a few. Some of the guest speakers will include: The Chester County Food Bank, the USDA, PA Horse Breeders Assoc., and the PSU Extension. There will also be a panel discussion on creating and marketing new value-added products. Registration is $25 for the day (with lunch included) and available online at cc2020.org.
