Keep em tied (Photos)

We have all faced this problem; untied shoe laces. It seems like no matter how tight we pull the knot the darn things still come untied, usually at the most inconvenient time. Ignore them and you’ll probably fall on your head when they trip you up. Or leave your boot laces untied and the first sucking mud hole you step into keeps your boot when you take that next step. One solution is the dreaded double knot. The trouble is even double knots come untied and if they don’t then you must have really pulled them super tight and now you can’t untie them when you want the boot off. Get out the knife!

I guess you could wimp out and get Velcro straps instead of laces. However there is a solution that is so simple you will feel like smacking yourself in the head because you didn’t think of it yourself. Really! Simply pull the laces tighter on the bottom of the knot. Yep, just grab the lace where it comes out of the shoe eyelet and just before the knot and pull it tight. Do this on both sides. Now those shoe and boot laces are not coming untied until you want them too. I guarantee it.
