Keenan Collett is fourth freshman to earn athlete of the week

2013/2014 Winter season- Week 3 -December 16th-December 22nd

Male

Keenan Collett- Orono- basketball- The freshman scored 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in 47-43 win over Penquis. Recorded eight points, 11 rebounds, and three steals in 57-51 loss to Old Town.

Collett is the seventh student/athlete from Orono high school to earn athlete of the week.

He joins Christian Mowrer Dominic Mowrer, Tyler Eddy, Andi Foster, Jillian Woodward, and Diana Tyutyunnyk as Red Riots that have earned the honor.

Christian Mowrer, Eddy, Foster, and Woodward each were named AOW twice.

Collett is the fourth freshman to capture athlete of the week. Delani Bennett (PCHS), Tino Ayala (Foxcroft), and Andrew Speed (Central) also earned the honor during their freshman year.

Runner up

Trevor Fogarty- Dexter - basketball- Scored 26 points, including the game winning basket at the buzzer in 50-49 victory over Central.

Other nominations

Tristen French- PCHS- basketball- Scored 20 points, including six three pointers in 48-42 victory over Bangor Christian.

Jeremy Bell- PCHS- basketball- Scored 12 points on 5-5 shooting from the field, and 2-2 from the free throw line in 48-42 win over Bangor Christian.

Brady Hawkins- Mattanawcook- basketball- Scored the game winning basket at the buzzer in 70-68 victory over Schenck.

Tyler Thayer- Hermon- basketball- Scored 25 points in 46-38 win over Foxcroft.

Troy Reynolds- Searsport- basketball- The sophomore scored 29 points in 84-70 loss to George Stevens.
