Ke$ha’s mom reveals pop star’s deadly battle with an eating disorder, “she almost died,” reports the woman who should know, Pebe Sebert, Ke$ha’s mother. Ke$ha announced to her fans at the beginning of January that she would be heading off to rehab for 30 days to “learn to love herself again,” according to ABC News on Jan. 20.

With Ke$ha in a rehab to address her eating disorder, her mother decided to let her fans know just how serious this was. “I watched my beautiful, self-confident, brilliant daughter be berated and ridiculed for her looks and weight to the point that she almost died,” Sebert said.

Ke$ha also said in a statement before entering the rehab how she’s the biggest advocate for people to be themselves and love themselves for who they are. She admits that while she may be great at being a crusader for this cause, she finds it hard to practice when it comes to herself, so she’s looking for help.

It was just a matter of time before the pop star’s health turned on her. According to her mom the doctors that treated KeSha said that her sodium levels were so low and that her blood pressure was so low that they’ve only seen this when a patient comes in after a heart attack or stroke.

A week after Ke$ha checked into rehab, so did her mother at Ke$ha’s urging. She wanted her mother to work on her Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

At home it got so bad and the family was so worried about her that Ke$ha’s family and friends would follow her to the bathroom. She was too good at purging very quietly and doing it so quickly. She got very sneaky around the disorder, which is really part of the disorder.

It was around the holidays when Ke$ha fessed up to the amount of throwing up she was doing. Ke$ha’s mom called some centers and the pop star felt comfortable with what they had to offer and off she went three days later. She spent those three days in tears before leaving to get the treatment, her mom said.
