Put on your boogie shoes, Central Iowa, 70's and 80's funk/R&B/disco group KC and the Sunshine Band will get down tomorrow night at Prairie Meadows Casino in Altoona. KC and the Sunshine Band got their start in the early seventies and quickly rose to prominence with hits like "Get Down Tonight", "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty", "Boogie Shoes", "That's The Way (I Like It)", and "I'm Your Boogie Man". KC and the Sunshine Band racked up six #1 singles and four platinum/multi-platinum albums, as well as winning Grammy, American Music, and People's Choice Awards. The group's success has translated to the big screen as well, with their music appearing in more than 200 movies through the years. Altogether, the band has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide. The band formed in 1973 and took its name from band leader Harry Wayne Casey (KC) and the group's home state of Florida, "The Sunshine State".
