The Kyle Busch Foundation has partnered with the Raleigh, North Carolina-based Pretty in Pink Foundation in an effort to raise money and awareness for local "Champions" throughout North Carolina. The mission of Pretty in Pink is to provide financial assistance to uninsured and underinsured breast cancer patients regardless of their ability to pay.

"We are honored to partner with Samantha and Kyle Busch," said Penny Lauricella, Pretty In Pink Executive Director. "Their commitment to assisting breast cancer patients in the Charlotte area mirrors our statewide mission. The money they are raising in connection with the October NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway will pay the medical bills for 12 or more 'Champions' (the title we proudly give our deserving recipients) in Gaston, Mecklenburg, Rowan, and Union counties. We look forward to an ongoing relationship with the Kyle Busch Foundation as we help to save lives of North Carolina breast cancer patients."

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a month set aside to increase awareness of the disease and raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. Through "Project Pink: Protect Your Pair," the Kyle Busch Foundation is doing their part on a local level to help those in need.

"Kyle and I want to make a big difference this year," said Samantha Busch of the Kyle Busch Foundation, "by not only bringing awareness to the disease, but also by taking it one step further and helping our local neighbors who are fighting cancer now. The Pretty In Pink Foundation just touched my heart with the many ways they help their 'Champions' throughout the process. One main component of Pretty In Pink services is that they pay medical bills locally in North Carolina, for people who are struggling with finances. As we were reading through the bios of these brave individuals, we realized that they are right here in our community - faces we can identify with - and that made us realize this was the perfect fit for our, 'Project Pink: Protect Your Pair' campaign."

Among the efforts to promote the project, the Kyle Busch Motorsports No. 77 Nationwide Series Toyota Camry driven by Parker Kligerman will sport a custom paint scheme at Kansas Speedway on Saturday, October 5th, to support KyleBuschFoundation.org fundraising initiatives. A program hat, t-shirt and beanie will also be available from September 24th through December 1st at www.kylebuschfoundation.org with 100% of the proceeds going towards fundraising. You can also make a monetary donation directly to the "Project Pink: Protect Your Pair" campaign at the same website.

"Without the support of people like Kyle and Samantha Busch, and the Kyle Busch Foundation, we would not be able to help those North Carolinians who need us so desperately," said Dr. Lisa Tolnitch, Founder of Pretty In Pink. "No one should have to choose between paying the rent and paying for breast cancer treatments."
