Wade lettered four years for coach Keith Galloway at state power Lexington Christian, hitting .366 in his junior and senior seasons with 66 runs scored, 17 doubles, 41 RBI and 28 stolen bases.
After signing with Kentucky and redshirting his first year, Wade earned an everyday role with the Wildcats as their starting shortstop and never looked back. He hit .296 as a freshman with an SEC-leading 24 doubles, and was named a Freshman All-American at shortstop, where he fielded a slick .944.
Wade continued to improve his sophomore year, hitting .313 and fielding a spectacular .962, numbers which earned him the nod on the 2009 All-SEC coaches' second-team.
Wade was drafted in the 11th round of the 2009 draft and elected to sign with the Florida Marlins, where he will likley compete for a role in high class-A or AA during his upcoming third professional season.
