However, Kayne has a problem when it comes to finding out who is responsible for the coins. He isn't sure who created them. So he is going after multiple companies that he feels is responsible. Amazon is one of the companies that Kanye is going after because it provides web hosting for several websites that offer the virtual Coinye.

Not only does Kanye want the Coinye West coin eliminated off the web, he also wants some of the profits that the coin brought in. Kanye is afraid that his reputation and brand is going to be harmed beyond repair by the use of this virtual coin. The Coinye West virtual coins appeared for public sale on January 7, 2014. The front of the coin has a cartoon picture that resembles Kanye's face, wearing big sunglasses.

According to Daily News, the suit states, "In interviews with the press, defendants brazenly admit that they adopted the marks COINYE WEST, COINYE and COYE to directly associate their newly minted crypto-currency with Mr. West."

Many are speculating if Kanye is seeking to be paid in real paper money, or if he wants the virtual Coinye West currency.
