2010 Kalamazoo River Fall Jamboree from the Michigan folks associated with Bangor South Haven Heritage Water Trail Association .Celebrating the ‘Coming of the Fall Colors’ and go exploring on the Kalamazoo River and in the Ottawa Marsh, located east and north of Fennville, Michigan in the Allegan State Game Area.
Paddlers from Michigan and Northern Indiana are welcome to participate. There will be paddling on Saturday and Sunday , October 2nd and 3rd. You are welcome to bring your tent and camp out Friday and Saturday nights. Join as much or as little of the jamboree as your schedule permits.
Friday Evening Camping At Pine Point Rustic Campground Rustic Camping from your car : picnic tables, fire rings, water pumps, vault toilets Group camping available, please let me know if you wish to participate on either night.
Saturday - Paddle the River & Maybe Pass Through the Marsh - Brown Bag Lunch - Breakfast Option - Fix own at camp or home or meet by 8:30am @ Blue Goose Café 210 E Main St Fennville, MI 49408 (269) 561-5044 -- Blue Goose patrons go directly to takeouts to leave staged vehicles and then travel to the launch site.
Morning Paddle Kalamazoo River
9:15am Kayak Tender will be at launch site to tender boats left while vehicle being staged at the take out. -- 46th Street Pipeline Public Access -- 1/4 mile north of 46thSt & 126thAve on 2 track
9:45am Stage Vehicles at Take Out -- Regular Paddle - New Richmond Public Access off 58th Street ($5.00 per vehicle) --
Super Paddle - 63rd Street Public Access
10:45am Launch at 46th Street Pipeline Public Access and Paddle the Kalamazoo River
1:00pm Brown Bag Lunch Stop
4:00pm Option A - Take out at New Richmond Public Access
5:00pm Option B - Take out at 63rd Street Public Access

Day Paddle Ottawa Marsh
10:30 Meet at Main Landing (East) launch / take out site:-- Go ½ mile north on dirt drive at entrance on north side of 126th Street 1m east of 52nd Street
11:00 Launch on the Ottawa Marsh -- Paddle into the unknown and explore the hidden treasures of the Marsh
12:30 Brown Bag Lunch on the Marsh
3:30 Take out
4:30 Apple pie at Crane's Orchard on M89 west of Fennville

I'm glad to hear that the Kalamazoo river is clean enough to canoe in after the oil spill.
I am not familiar with kayaking myself, but it is nice to hear about people getting outside to do something besides watching TV.
