Senator Hagan is on a roll. She has been a busy Senator in North Carolina and DC. She has been honoring a Marine and trying to protect Social Security. She made sure to take time to honor a Marine who passed away. She took time to acknowledge his contributions to America. Hagan's Office stated : " U.S. Senator Kay Hagan, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, today presented Private First Class Milton Woodruff's family a certificate commemorating the Congressional Gold Medal awarded to the Montford Point Marines in 2012. Woodruff, who passed away in 1995, was a veteran of World War II and was among the first African Americans to serve in the United States Marine Corps. Senator Hagan's office worked to secure the certificate for the family and ensure Private First Class Woodruff's contributions to our country are properly honored."

Senator Kay Hagan has also stated her take on Social Security. She stated : " I'm pleased that the President has forgone plans to use chained CPI to calculate cost of living adjustments for seniors in his annual budget proposal. Reducing Social Security benefits for North Carolina seniors is the wrong way to balance our budget. More than two million North Carolinians depend on Social Security to make ends meet, and we must keep the promise we have made to them by protecting their benefits."

So she is taking the time to address major things both in North Carolina and DC.
