The pistol used to murder Texas prosecutor Mark Hasse more than a year ago in Kaufman was found recently by divers in Lake Tawakoni, according to CBS 11 news affiliate of Dallas. This major revelation comes only days after jury selection began in Rockwall, Texas for the man charged with murdering Hasse, his boss District Attorney Mike McLelland and his boss's wife Cynthia McLelland.

Former Kaufman Justice of the Peace Eric Williams has the chance to become the first man in Texas history to be convicted of murdering two prosecutors from the same office. On March 5, 2014, a law enforcement dive team recovered two pistols and a black mask.

One of the pistols recovered from the lake was used in the murder of assistant Kaufman County District Attorney Mark Hasse in January of 2013, according to court documents. The papers also indicate Kim Williams, estranged wife of Eric Williams, purchased the second pistol found in the lake.

The McLellands were found murdered execution-style in their Forney home in March of 2013.

Investigators still have not found the 223-caliber weapon used to murder the McLellands.

Hasse was shot to death as he exited his vehicle on his way to work on January of 2013 outside the Kaufman County Courthouse. Hasse probably had his mind on the numerous high profile cases he was working on as he headed to his office. He never realized he was about to be murdered when a masked shooter ambushed him in broad daylight and shot him to death.

The gun that was used to end his earthly existence has now been found, according to the Dallas Fox affiliate. A search warrant affidavit said dive teams searching Lake Tawakoni near Two Mile Bridge found the two pistols, a black mask and other evidence.

Kaufman County citizens were gripped with terror in 2013 as the two prosecutors were murdered and no one was arrested. The national news media descended on tiny Kaufman after each of the tragic murders.

Jury selection in the capital murder trial of Eric Williams began Friday in Rockwall as an estimated 3,000 citizens received questionnaires to fill out. The choice of only 12 jurors out of that multitude is expected to be a lengthy process.

Opening statements are not slated to begin until October 20 of 2014.

Former Dallas prosecutor Toby Shook, who was named special prosecutor on this case, refused to comment either about the jury selection process now underway or the newly discovered evidence.

Eric Williams' estranged wife Kim reportedly has told law enforcement her husband was the shooter in all three murders while she waited in the getaway car.
