Kaufman County crime related news for January 2012

There were a couple of crime related news items in the last week that Kaufman County residents may be interested in knowing about. One incident showed that even though they are a small police department, the Crandall PD officers are very good at busting criminals. The second item deals with Justice of the Peace Eric Williams and his upcoming trial on two felony charges of theft and burglary of a building.

The Crandall Police Department turned a good burglary arrest into and even better marijuana growing operation bust on January 9, 2012. They responded to the 300 block of West Trunk Street for a burglary in progress call that resulted in the arrest of Dallas man, Manuel Reyes Najera Jr. They also arrested Crandall resident Aubrey Ruth Dennie, 22 for Possession of Marijuana that was more than 5 pounds but less than 50 pounds. A second burglary suspect is still at large though police know who they are looking for and intend to obtain a warrant for his arrest.
