There is no better place to get outdoors and be active than the picturesque island of Kauai.

To end 2013, several Kauai golf courses and resorts were written up by national media outlets including Golfweek, LINKS, and Golf Range.

Kauai offers 50 miles of white sand beaches and many visitors don't realize that only 5% of the island has been developed.

There is a golf course and a vacation package to fit any level golfer that visits Kauai- and the honors for the beautiful island keep piling up.

“We are gratified that the superb golf courses and resorts continue to receive widespread critical recognition,” states Sue Kanoho, Executive Director of the Kaua‘i Visitors Bureau. “The island’s beauty, history and quality of resort accommodation options, beaches and outdoor activities complement each other, providing experiences that draw visitors from around the world.”

Some of the awards for 2013 include:

Prince Course at Princeville Golf Club

Ranking of No. 23 for the Kaua‘i Lagoons Golf Club, No. 84 for the Kaua‘i Lagoons Golf Club and No. 86 for the Princeville Makai Golf Club in Golfweek’s annual “Top 100 Resort Courses” list, The criteria included conditioning, memorability, and variety of holes.

Poipu Bay Golf Course was also included in the “Next 100” Resort Course ratings from Golfweek. This Robert Trent Jones Jr. design was host to the PGA Grand Slam of Golf from 1994 through 2006, and has hosted players like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Vijay Singh over the years. It's regarded as one of the top resort courses in the world.

St. Regis Princeville Resort

Residing on the island’s North Shore, the St. Regis Princeville Resort was included in LINKS Magazine’s “Top 25 Golf Resorts of the World” list.

The resort not only features a great 18-hole course, but also a 9-hone and a world-class practice facility.

Puakea Golf Course

A favorite of locals, Puakea garnered “Best in Kaua‘i” honors from This Week Kaua‘i magazine and has been ranked as the No. 15 course in the state of Hawaii by Golfweek.

You can't go wrong with any course on the island of Kauai. It's a golf paradise- set right on an island paradise. A great place to be active and get in some great golf.
