Houston area residents, listen up: One of the best beer festivals in the area is just over two weeks away and there is still time to purchase tickets for the event, which has now expanded to a two- day affair. I am talking about the Katy Wild West Brewfest, scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2014 in Katy’s Villagio Town Center with a pre- event on Friday, May 9, at Katy’s No Label Brewing.

Beer Options Galore

If you love craft beer and enjoy finding new beer to sample, Katy Wild West Brewfest is the place to be on May 10. The event will feature more than 200 flowing taps serving up delicious, distinct craft beer from more than 55 different breweries. The space for this year’s festival has expanded, and that means more elbow room and more beer sampling options. Katy Rotary Club member and event organizer David Loesch says the festival has improved even more from last year’s excellent brewfest and guests will appreciate the enhancements:

“With the increased space at the Villagio Town Center in Katy Texas, we will have something for everyone” said Loesch. “As our event grows we are able to offer various activities such as a game tent, specialty bar only serving hand selected brews by the brewers made for our event, a silent auction tent, 2 bands, kids zone and new to the Brewfest this year, our exclusive beer garden serving one of a kind brews that you will have a hard time finding in Houston.”

But Wait, There’s More

Katy Wild West Brewfest is much more than a fun way to spend an afternoon. The festival is all about community and it gives back its proceeds from the event directly to the local community. “Being one of the only Brewfests in the state that are members of the Brewers Association of America, we truly have a passion for the craft brewer, our objective is to showcase their product to our patrons, while donating all of the profits right back into our community and surrounding areas” Said Loesch. “This is one of the only brewfests that I know of that is put on by 100% volunteers, we love craft beer and we love giving back to our community”
