Katy Wild West Brew Fest: Volunteer for a Worthwhile Cause

See also

Katy’s Wild West Brew Fest is now in its third year. Scheduled for May 10, 2014 at the Villagio Town Center, this beer festival is the largest of its kind in the Katy area and is notable for its emphasis on the local community. The event is great not only for its wide selection of craft beer, food, and fun but also for the charitable donations made possible through volunteers.

In Support of Local Causes

Katy’s Wild West Brew Fest is organized by the Rotary Club of Katy and the event places a special emphasis on local charity. Proceeds from the events are given back to the community via the Katy ISD and other causes. The amount of money given to local charities and non- profit organizations is made possible, to a large degree, because of volunteers. By donating time, the Rotary Club is able to retain a larger percentage of tickets sales. This excess money is channeled directly back to the local community.

What They Need, What You Get

Among the areas in which volunteers are needed, the one with the greatest need is pourers. This year’s event is expected to attract a minimum of 50 brewers. When you consider that each one will have three taps flowing at any given time, the need for volunteer pourers becomes obvious.

To give a little back, volunteers will receive a complimentary drink card and a t- shirt, plus a special party in the VIP lounge following the end of the event. Volunteer pourers will work in two time slots and are expected to work during their assigned time, then meet afterward around 7 p.m. for a one hour VIP lounge party.
