Katy, Texas is a rapidly growing community with an abundance of activities, great schools, and a supportive citizen base that keeps it thriving and moving forward. One event that directly supports the community while also entertaining craft beer fans is the Katy Wild West Brew Fest. Now in its second year, the Katy Wild West Brew Fest is all about having fun and giving back to the community. Here is some quick background information on the event:

Date and Time: Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 2 p.m. (1 p.m. start for VIP) to 6 p.m.
The Katy Wild West Brew Fest is all about community and to help make this year’s event even more successful than last years, the organizers are looking for some second- shift (after 4:30 p.m.) volunteers to help with serving the beer. Interested parties can sign up via the Katy Wild West Brew fest web site or by sending an e-mail to the festival’s volunteer coordinator, Sara Plant, at splant88@gmail.com. Volunteers will not only help support local charitable causes, they will also receive a free drink card and a T- shirt for their highly appreciated service.
As for the beer, well, let’s just say there will be plenty available, including several newer breweries just opened in the past year. Here is a list of participants:

Tickets for the event cost $25 for general admission, $60 for VIP, and $15 for designated driver. The price includes food, water, and live entertainment from the band Horizon, with VIP guests also receiving access to the Beer Tent where they will receive a commemorative tasting cup and some fabulous food not available through general admission. Both VIP and general admission attendees also have the option of purchasing a drink card beforehand for a lower price than what will be charged at the event.
