Katy Perry wants no questions about Diplo

Katy Perry apparently wants to keep her new relationship, if there is indeed one, quiet. The NY Daily News reported on Tuesday, May 6, that reporters were warned not to ask the singer any questions about DJ Diplo (real name Wes Pentz) at Monday night's Met Ball.

Perry and Diplo are reportedly dating. They were first linked to each other during California's Coachella Music Festival in April. More recently, they went to dinner and attended an after-party for the "Amazing Spider-Man 2" together in New York City. While one source said that the two are just good friends, another told E! News that there seems to be more than just a good friendship between them, saying that there's an "obvious chemistry there."

Whatever's really going on between the singer and DJ, she ended up not having to fend off questions about her love life since she ended up skipping out on the Met Ball. She apparently was too busy preparing for her Prismatic World Tour, which kicks off Wednesday, May 7, in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

However, just because Perry wasn't at the year's biggest fashion event doesn't mean that she wasn't thinking about all the fun she was missing out on. The night of the ball, she posted a photo of her rehearsing for her tour. The photo shows her standing high above the stage on a platform while wearing a large black-and-white skirt, yin-yang pattern. Her skirt is so large that it completely covers the platform that she's standing on. The photo's caption joked that she tried to go to the Met Ball but her dress wouldn't fit through customs.

Perhaps Perry wants to avoid questions about Diplo because she has learned her lesson about sharing too much of her love life with the media after her failed romance with John Mayer. Only a few months after she and Mayer debutedd their music video "Who You Love" on "Good Morning America," they split. She reportedly just got too busy with her work. It seems that her Prismatic World Tour has not only kept her from going to the Met Ball, it has also kept her from committing to someone.
