Katy Perry tweets about Russell Brand's arrest: 'Don't f*ck with the Brands!'

Russell Brand was arrested in Los Angeles when a paparazzi attacked his fiance and singer Katy Perry. The couple were walking through LAX airport when Russell caught the photog trying to take a picture of Katy's who-who. Brand did all he could to attack the photographer, ultimately ending in the hands of the LAPD.

KATY PERRY: 'DON'T F*CK WITH THE BRANDS'

"If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fiancé will do his job & protect me," Katy, 24, tweeted shortly after the incident. Also adding her Twitter tags, "#standbyyourman #dontfu*ckwiththeBrands."

The 35-year-old Brand insisted that he was simply trying to protect Perry from the rabid photogs and was released on $20,000 bail shortly following the arrest. His court date has been set for October 15.

GOING TO THE CHAPEL

Perry and Brand first met when he was on the set of "Get Him to the Greek" in summer 2009. Later, the duo met again at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards and instantly fell head over heels.

Brand said while at the mic during the 2009 show, "Katy Perry didn't win an award and she's staying at the same hotel as me, so she's gonna need a shoulder to cry on. So in a way, I'm the real winner tonight."

This year, Katy Perry was the one cracking the jokes. While co-announcing award winners with rapper Nicki Minaj, Perry joked that it was her and Brand's one-year anniversary and "maybe another star" would find their husband too.

"One of the first things I'll do is apply for dual citizenship," Perry said of her October wedding details. "I'm not too sure if I have to take a test as I've not had time to look into it. But England is like my second home."
