Katy Perry topped Justin Bieber in Twitter followers at 46 million late last year. And according to Billboard on Feb. 1, the “Roar” singer is shaking things up again. The website reports Perry is now the first Twitter user to top 50 million followers.
Perry reportedly added more than 18 million followers in 2013 while promoting her “PRISM” album. But that's not all, the pop star surpassed Lady Gaga in followers last July knocking the “Born This Way” singer down to third place at 41 million followers.
According to the website, music is the most discussed topic on Twitter with more than one billion tweets about music last year. Other high-ranking artists on Twitter include Taylor Swift at 38 million, Britney Spears at 35 million, Rihanna at 34 million and Justin Timberlake at 30 million.
Meanwhile, don’t count Justin Bieber out just yet. The "Baby" singer is coming in at a close second with 49.2 million followers.
