As Life & Style reported on January 2, 2014, the pop star sold the Los Angeles mansion for $5.6 million, despite the fact she originally paid $6.5 million for the home.
Still, it's worth it for the "Roar" singer. Selling this property will be a huge step in helping her finally move on from a difficult period of her life.
Back in September 2013, Perry discussed the emotional toll that the divorce had taken on her. In an interview with Billboard (via Yahoo! Omg!), she revealed that she had struggled with suicidal thoughts.
Her song, "By the Grace of God," talked about the dark emotional stage that she had gone through. As she explained, "that song is evident of how tough it really was at a certain point. I asked myself, 'Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?' All the songs are real-life moments. I can only write autobiographically. I put all the evidence in the music. I tell my fans if they want to know the real truth about stuff, just listen to the songs."
Thankfully, Perry has happily moved on with her new boyfriend, John Mayer, and she is "madly in love."
Rumors have also been floating around that Mayer is close to proposing to Perry. As Showbiz Spy reports, he has already been referring to her as his "wife."
Backstage, during their joint appearance on "Good Morning America," an insider reported that ''he kept calling Katy his wife. He said things like, 'I just do whatever the wife says' and then both of them would laugh. It was like looking at an old married couple.''
The insider also claimed that he had been asking his friends for tips on what type of ring would suit her.
Do you think that Katy Perry has finally moved on from Russell Brand? Do you think that she and John Mayer are meant to be?
