Katy Perry roars yes for low-fat veggie diet and no for plastic surgery or weed

Katy Perry has a response to those who invite her to try weed or suggest plastic surgery: "You're gonna hear me roar." Well, she might not have sung her lyrics in response to the question, but Katy is making it clear that she stays away from pot and plastic surgery, reported CNN on Jan. 21.

"The weed - I'm not friends with it. I can't do that stuff," declared Katy. "I'd be like in the corner: 'Are you trying to kill me?!'"

And she believes in positive body image - without the enhancement of cosmetic surgery.

"I've never had any plastic surgery," Katy announced proudly. "Not a nose, not a chin, not a cheek, not a t*t. So my messages of self-empowerment are truly coming from an au naturel product."

Despite that pronouncement about self-empowerment, Katy doesn't hesitate to make diet demands. You've heard of singers wanting only a certain color of M&M? Well, Katy is all about green - and we're not talking candy. TMZ snagged a copy of her concert rider, and it's all about low-fat diets, featuring more vegetables and fruit than the average farmer's market.

"Fresh veggies at all times — including spinach/broccoli/celery/beets/carrots/kale, etc," reveals TMZ. "Two large baskets of fruit — one must be tropical. Dinner must include a vegetarian option ... plus quinoa or couscous. All meals must be low-fat and health-conscious and cannot contain MSG."

Katy's specific slimming secrets:

  • Fresh organically grown fruit
  • Fresh organically grown sliced raw vegetables with ranch dip
  • Low-fat healthy granola
  • Whole-grain tortilla chips
  • One bowl of hummus (large)
  • Freshly made guacamole (size of bowl not specified)

The vegetarian diet emphasizes low-fat, organic foods, designed to provide her with energy while helping her maintain her weight loss.

Katy shed the weight prior to her famous Vogue cover, according to New York magazine.

"I did a lot of my own prepping. I kind of went on a cleanse ... I did a lot of stuff like vitamins and supplements, I changed my coffee to green tea, I didn't drink any alcohol for three months," she said to Jay Leno.
