On Monday night, Kworb.net updated its latest iTunes charts and surprised even Katy Perry's most supportive fans: "Roar" is selling twice as much as almost any other single. The closest song is Eminem's "Berzerk," which is selling 58 percent of Katy Perry's numbers.
Avicii is selling 54 percent of Perry's numbers with "Wake Me Up" and Lorde is selling 52 percent with "Royals." Former megastar Lady Gaga is selling 45 percent of Perry's numbers. If you remember, Lady Gaga purposely released "Applause" three weeks back to compete with Katy Perry. She failed miserably as the song is losing steam in sales and airplay.
Katy Perry is set to release the "Roar" video on September 5. She is predicted to hit the Billboard pole position when Billboard announces their updated singles list tomorrow. Katy Perry will be able to take solace in knowing she has a legitimate hit. She didn't have to ask her fans to buy multiple copies of her song or tweet links to sites that allow fans to watch the "Applause" video 150 times in a row. We can't wait to listen to Katy Perry's full "Prism" album.
