With “Katy Perry ring” already a trending topic on popular search engines this weekend, it’s no surprise when Yahoo News reported this Sunday, Feb. 17, that after Katy Perry was seen wearing a beautiful new ring on her left finger following a Valentine’s Day dinner with boyfriend John Mayer, the rumor mill began that she was engaged.
So is the talented Katy Perry engaged to John Mayer this Feb? According to a source for People, the happily dating couple is not ready for wedding bells just yet.
“[Katy and John] are not engaged,” said the insider.
The new ring has a large heart-shaped ruby set in the gold band — the Katy Perry ring was given to the “Thinking of You” singer as a Valentine’s Day gift from her beau — and John reportedly “was super nice and interested” in picking out the perfect ring for her.
John Mayer and Katy Perry began dating again this August, 2012.
