Pop singer Katy Perry previewed some new music from her album "Prism" on Saturday through snippets. Fans have the power to choose the next song to be released from Perry's album, which is a toss up between the songs "Dark Horse" and "Walking On Air."
Perry teamed up with Pepsi to release a song from new album "Prism." Throughout the week, fans have been unlocking information about "Dark Horse" and "Walking On Air" with the hashtag "#KatyNow" on Twitter. Now samples of both tracks are streaming on MTV.com. In further fan involvement, they can vote on which song will be released to digital retailers on September 17 with a hashtag of the song's title with "Now" at the end (i.e. "#WalkingOnAirNow").
"Walking On Air" is an upbeat affair, sounding like a '90s house music track. On "Dark Horse," Perry seems to give us more of that darker sound she's been saying "Prism" has. The ballad starts out on a dreamy note before hitting some sort of drop at the end of the sample.
The winning song will be announced tomorrow following Perry's performance on the MTV Video Music Awards. Fans are voting now on which will be released on September 17 (the same day of Britney Spears' big announcement). "Prism," featuring the current smash "Roar," will be released on October 22.
