Katy Perry pushes limits of Grammys dress code in revealing Gucci gown (Video)

CBS execs in charge of implementing the Grammys dress code, take note: keeping Katy Perry covered up is going to take more than a memo!

The "Wide Awake' singer showed up on the 2013 Grammy Awards red carpet (Feb. 10) in a skin-tight, mint green Gucci gown that barely contained her ample bosom. In fact, the dress featured a sort of porthole for her cleavage, framed at the neckline by an intricate, textured design in golds, blues and greens. Katy said her look was inspired by "Pricilla Presley in the 70's" when interviewed on the 2013 Grammys red carpet.

You can revisit Katy Perry's 2012 Grammy's performance in the video here; it was Katy's first post-split performance after divorcing ex-hubby Russell Brand. This year, Katy attended the awards with new love, John Mayer. Check out photos of the couple canoodling at Sunday's event here now!

During his time with Katy, veteran E! "Live From the Red Carpet" host Ryan Seacrest, at just 5'8" tall, found it a bit difficult to concentrate on the task at hand with Katy's assets on near full display. After the interview, Seacrest quipped to E! co-host Giuliana Rancic, "When you are my height, you have a lot of experience staying focused at that eye line. Lots of practice."

Also riding the fine line of decency as set forth by the CBS Grammys dress code memo, diva and former "American Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez dared to bare as much as she thought she could get away with. J-Lo chose a long black gown that left an entire (and we do mean entire!) leg, as well as a good portion of one half of her upper body, exposed.

As if CBS didn't have enough to worry about with Katy Perry and Jennifer Lopez, it seems portions of at least one 2013 Grammy Awards attendee's attire had to be censored for TV (Kat Von D's boyfriend's hat had a bad word written on it, apparently). Then, of course, we noticed a little bit of Alicia Keys "underboob" peeking out during her Grammys performance with Maroon 5, not to mention how sheer Rihanna's amazing Azzedine Alaia gown was on top.

Some stars did opt to keep it classy and well-covered for Sunday's big event. We covered the 2013 Grammys from the Staples Center media center, and when Adele swept in, she looked effortlessly regal. While some may argue the print of Adele's Valentino dress was too busy, it's growing on us more and more as we think back on how it looked on her in-person.

We interviewed Adele briefly after her Grammy win and will be publishing what she had to say about balancing recording, getting ready for events like Sunday's awards ceremony and new motherhood shortly, so stay tuned! Do you think the CBS Grammys memo telling celebrities to keep it under wraps was a bit silly to begin with, or was the network smart in trying to cover its butt in a post-Janet-Jackson-Super-Bowl-nip-slip kind of world? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
