On Oct. 12 American singer-songwriter Katy Perry performed her singles "Roar" and "Walking on Air" live on the late night NBC variety show "Saturday Night Live". For her performance of "Roar" Perry wore a leopard print dress, and all the members of her backing band were dressed up as animals. The "SNL" stage was even decked out to look as if she was performing in the jungle. For Perry's performance of "Walking on Air" she wore a school-girl uniform and her backing band all wore white.
Both songs are featured on Katy Perry's upcoming third studio album, "Prism" which is set to be released on Oct. 22 via Capitol Records. It will be the first full length studio album Perry has released since "Teenage Dream" in 2010. The song "Roar" is the lead single from "Prism" and it has already reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The next new episode of "Saturday Night Live" will air on Oct. 26. The host will be actor Edward Norton and the musical guest will be singer-songwriter Janelle Monáe.
