Perry was introduced by actor Steve Coogan ("Philomena") and the performance began with the singer inside a giant smoke filled globe that looked like a magic crystal ball. The stage production transformed the stage into a spooky forest with Perry as the evil witch. She was joined on stage by Juicy J, back-up dancers and a life sized dark horse.

In 2014 Perry was nominated for two Grammy Awards which were both for her song "Roar". She lost in both categories which were Best Pop Solo Performance, and Song of the Year. The song "Dark Horse" is the third single from Perry's fourth studio album, "Prism". The album was released on Oct. 18, 2013 and it went on to reach No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart.
