On Sept. 9 the late night NBC variety program "Saturday Night Live" announced on the show's official Tumblr page that Arcade Fire, Miley Cyrus, and Katy Perry will all make appearances during season 39 as musical guests. The brand new season of "SNL" kicks off on Sept. 28 with Tina Fey as the host, and Arcade Fire as the musical guest.
On Oct. 5 actress and recording artist Miley Cyrus will act as both the host, and the musical guest. Cyrus, who just released a racy music video for her new single "Wrecking Ball" is likely to perform that song, plus her single "We Can't Stop". Fans can probably except to see the skit "The Miley Cyrus Show" in which Vanessa Bayer appears as Cyrus during a fake talk show. For the March 11, 2011 episode, Cyrus was the host for the night, and she appeared in the skit not as herself, but as Justin Bieber.
On Oct. 12 Katy Perry will act as the musical guest and Bruce Willis will be the host for the evening. She will most likely perform her current single "Roar" and another new song from her upcoming fourth studio album "Prism". Katy Perry's last appearance on "Saturday Night Live" was during the Dec. 10, 2011 show in which she acted as only the host. The last time Perry was a musical guest on the show was during the season 36 opener in 2010.
