Katy Perry crashes parties in documentary-like music video for 'Birthday'

"Birthday" is the fourth single from Perry's album Prism. The breezy pop track is a deliciously sweet nod to the sound of '90s Mariah Carey. "So let me get you in your birthday suit / It's time to bring out the big balloons," Perry jubilantly sings. It's already shaping up to be another hit from her latest record.

In the music video for "Birthday," Perry seems to take on a viral video angle. Using a documentary style approach, she crashes five birthday parties (and a Bar Mitzvah) as different characters. The motley crew includes "Goldie The Dancer," "Ace The Animal Trainer," "Princess Mandee," "Yosef Shulem" and "Kriss The Clown."

All of the aforementioned Perry personas are dubbed "the world's worst birthday party entertainers" in the clip and they wreak havoc accordingly at celebrations for young kids and elderly folks. Everyone seems to lighten up in the end, though, especially some little girls who find out Mandee is really Katy Perry.

She rounds out the 8-minute long video with a special remix of "Birthday" during the credits. Katy makes that special day extra memorable in her lighthearted clip for "Birthday."

"Birthday" follows Perry's No. 1 hits "Roar" and "Dark Horse," along with the power ballad "Unconditionally," as the newest single from Prism. Her album was released in October of last year and it peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's albums chart. It became her third consecutive album to cross one million in sales in the U.S. She will embark on The Prismatic World Tour next month. Her worldwide trek will touch down in the U.S. on June 22, in North Carolina.
