Katy Perry contemplated suicide after her divorce from Russell Brand. On Sept. 30, MSN reported that Katy Perry, 28, was very depressed after her failed marriage. She asked herself whether or not living was the best option for her -- something that was very serious. Katy says that the song "By the Grace of God" (which is on her new album) explains some of those feelings.
"That song is evident of how tough it really was at a certain point. I asked myself, 'Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?' All the songs are real-life moments," Perry explained.
Katy Perry's thoughts of suicide might be long gone now but the pop star opened up about how she felt and how her divorce really bothered her -- it was more than just another bump in the road. While a lot of celebrities seem to just go about their lives, many of them get depressed -- especially after a divorce. In many ways, it's nice for fans to see a human side of these people we call stars.
"I can only write autobiographically. I put all the evidence in the music. I tell my fans if they want to know the real truth about stuff, just listen to the songs," continued Perry.
Katy Perry wrote about suicide and/or depression in at least one song of her new album. Will you be buying it?
