There are many reasons to boo artists, but this one might take the cake. Pop star Katy Perry was booed for bringing up Justin Bieber during her concert in London on Friday (March 18). The video of the audience attack showed up on YouTube a day later.
Katy has been doing an acoustic set of covers during her 'California Dreams' world tour, having featured several artists including Lady Gaga and Rihanna. As she was taking requests from the audience for the Hammersmith Apollo show in London, one fan from the audience screamed 'Justin Bieber.' She repeated the 'Never Say Never' singers name and the entire audience began to boo.
Katy tried to defend Justin:
"Justin is mine and Russell's adopted son. We love him dearly. Don't boo him, guys. Come on."
Katy, whose current hit E.T. is No. 3 on this week on the Billboard Hot 100, tried her best to control the audience and eventually just moved on in her concert.
Artists do covers of others' songs all of the time. Was it fair for the audience to boo Katy for bringing up Justin?
