Just when everything seemed to be running along smoothly in the Katy Perry and John Mayer relationship, someone put the brakes on. Again. According to Us Weekly on March 20, the singers have parted ways. Multiple sources confirmed the news.
Katy and John tried dating once before during the summer of 2012. They called it quits in August, only to get back together the following month. Their relationship has been a whirlwind of rumors about John’s infidelity that stemmed after Perry caught him sexting other women.
“It’s sad…It’s not over until it’s over….she’s leaving the window open. They have both been so focused on work,” the source tells Us. Sounds oddly like her divorce from Russell Brand, which was finalized in February of 2012.
Perry and Mayer seemed like their relationship was walking on the right path this time. In November they attended many high profile events together. John even appeared on “60 Minutes” discussing how happy he was in life. During Christmas the pair spent the holiday with Katy’s family.
People magazine also confirmed the split, stating “there has been a sudden halt to their happiness.” So far, neither stars' reps have commented on the news.
