Katy Perry and John Mayer have been officially split again. People reported on Tuesday, March 19 that the mismatched celebrity couple who have been on again, off again, and on again for past several months may be off again, this time for good.
The split comes less than a month after Perry, 28, was spotted wearing a ruby from Mayer, 35.
John Mayer and Katy Perry began dating last summer, ending their relationship the first time after only two weeks of dating, to find that they couldn't be apart just a month later. By October the two singers called it quits, to get back together once more. Well once more has lasted about 5 months this time, but is this it for them?
A source close to the couple has reportedly said to Us magazine,
“It’s sad.
“It’s not over until it’s over. You have to see how things play out.
“She’s leaving the window open. They have both been so focused on work,” said another source.
The 28-year-old "I Kissed a Girl" hit maker has been divorced for nearly a year and a half from comedian actor Russell Brand, and has been reported more than once to have fallen head-over-heels in love with singer, John Mayer, who has earned quite a reputation with the celebrity ladies including Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift, and Jessica Simpson to name a small handful.
As recently as last month, Mayer was upbeat about the relationship, calling it "very human" and even speculating on the idea of marriage, no reasons behind the split have been reported to date.
