Katy Perry and David Archuleta to sing at fundraising concert for Typhoon Ketsana/Ondoy victims.
After the cancellation of Katy Perry's October 3rd concert in Manila, Philippines, due to the consequences of the tropical storm known as Ondoy or Katsana, it is being reported that the singer of "Waking Up in Vegas" will now perform at a fundraising concert for the victims along with American Idol runner up and current teen pop star David Archuleta.

ATRL cite MTV Philippines and MTV as sources, according to which the
Katy Perry and
David Archuleta concert will now be "bigger and better." Other reports set the tentative concert date at October 17th, and inform that the raised funds would go to the Red Cross in order to help the victims of the natural tragedy.
Although this is still officially unconfirmed news, it is safe to say that, were the reports true, the concert would certainly be of great help to those affected by Typhoon Ketsana/Ondoy.

I love them both I'm so happy DAVID could go back in the philippines his fans there will be HAPPY :) & the best part that it's 4 charity :)
If David will be there I am sure there will be a lot of people flying in from the bordering countries to attend the show! It will be big!! Good call!
David shows his heart, and what makes him so special and loved by being part of this great relief effort. Many ''talk the talk'', but walking the talk is another matter - he exemplifies what an ''American Idol'' should be about, and proves that being a winner is more than placing first in a contest.
Kudos to him, Katy Perry, the organizers, and all who will participate to bring aid and relief to the filipinos decimated by this tragedy.
So glad Katy fans have an opportunity for this make up concert but what a treat to have David Archuleta there. This is one great ticket!!! Generous of them to donate procedes to the Red Cross. And to organize all of this so quickly... kudos to all.
David I had lost hope in the world. And specialy in young people. I laid in my bed for six months, unable to move cause of severe depression I was seriously thinking some crazy alternatives. Then I rolled over on my remote by mistake. It switch to American idol and you were singing "imagine".I have follow your career ever since, My life has improved 120%. I will probably never meet you in person, but I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.... I'm going to stop now cause computer is getting all wet with my tears and I'm in public and somebody just ask me if I was ok. I told them they were tears of joy.... Sincerly your 55 y/o ex depressed man. tnx tnx tnx
Durant, thank you for sharing your wonderful experience. David is truly a very special person who has touched countless hearts and lives with his amazing gifts of sining and caring. It is heartwarming to hear that he will be a part of the efforts to bring relieft to those who are trying to restore order after this devastating disaster. May God bless David, Katy Perry, and all that are involved and their efforts.
Gotta say that I'm really impressed that David Archuleta is going out of his way to help the Philippines this way. He is one amazing young man. I remember there being a Kissmas type concert last year with both David and Katy Perry so they have probably met. This should be one awesome show! (and kudos to Katy, too). Now I just hope David has a tour stop this christmas in Toronto!
Katty and David thank you very much for helping the Filipino victim from typhoon Ketsana you have a big heart. God bless you and we will always pray for your success in singing career and also blessed you family.
I wouldn't expect anything less from David. He is a kind and giving young man. The world needs more like him.
My heart goes out to all the Filippinos who were affected by the typhoon. I'm sure if David Archuleta can...he will take part in this concert to help raise funds for the people in need. He is one amazing singer / songwriter.
I think it's great! I hope it happens. It's no surprise that David Archuleta would do such a concert. I admire and respect both artists for their concern and charity.
That would be awesome--I feel so badly for the people who lost homes and loved ones. David Archuleta is a young man with a BIG heart and his voice can heal --that will be a great concert.
A benefit concert is great, but I think fans of Katy Perry who bought the tickets to watch her wouldn't necessarily appreciate sharing the concert grounds with Archuleta fans. Separate concerts would probably work better for the fan base since Katy fans are not necessarily Archuleta fans. It would get too crowded.
wow..david archuleta will gonna come to manila again within a year?..wow!..that's awesome!...and its an opportunity again for those archie fans who didn't watch the concert of cook and archuleta last may 16,09...and im glad that archie has a big heart for his filipino fans for benefit a concert for those people that has been affect by the storm...love u archie!..
really hope this will be confirmed soon, David's so uplifting and the people in the philippines really need the support and inspiration right now. Katy & David performed at the same jingle ball last year and already met, it'd great to see them together again.
Kudos to Katy and David for giving a concert for a much needed charity. David is all about helping out people in need. I'm sure his Filipino fans are over the moon that David will be back in town "-)
This is just like David to do something in return to help his Filipino fans! He loves the Philippines and its people and always wanted to return to this beautiful country! A shout out to Katy Perry too!
